Photo: I Will Follow Irish & UK Singles
This website is a photographic and documentary record of my U2 vinyl collection. It is not a discography as, being just one collection, it is missing many items, but it does contain most of the common items from around the world and a few of the rarer ones! It documents all of my 7", 10" and 12" singles and LPs, although some scans of the inner sleeves are still missing at the moment. Some time in the future it will also contain all of my Live LP collection. Although I also have some CDs and cassettes in my collection, I have not included them here as vinyl was my main focus when I was collecting in the 1980s, 1990s & 2000s. The collection includes the very earliest releases from 1979 up to about 2006. For a more complete record of the U2 catalogue I would recommend Patrice Bruhat's u2-discography.com. I have not included information such as the track listings and mixes although this can be discerned in many cases from the scans. For a complete record of the songs and mixes included on the various releases to date I would recommend u2songs.com by Aaron Sams et al. For information on U2's cassette catalogue I recommend u2cassettes.com by Gerd Küng.
On the pages that follow, the early era items were photographed directly (these will be replaced by scans) whereas the items from the Joshua Tree era onwards I have scanned using a flatbed scanner. The labels are scanned at 400dpi and the covers at 200dpi with the 12" covers scanned in parts and photo-merged and reduced in size to around 1600px x 1600px. All the record labels are shown for both A and B sides as well as both the front and back covers of the sleeves. I have included the matrix numbers for all pressings as this may be of some use in determining the order of some of the re-releases. I have also indicated some of the subtle differences in the various labels and picture covers as well as any stickers included on the sleeves.
